Milo Bue is a scenic designer based in the Midwest. He has extensive experience in Chicago's vibrant storefront theater scene, while simultaneously collaborating with esteemed figures like Todd Rosenthal, Jeffrey Kmiec, Kevin Depinet, and William Boles. Though much of his approach has been influenced by this work, Milo's unique perspective to design is inspired by story and innovation.
His passion lies in projects that challenge conventional norms, seeking to push the boundaries of audience expectation. A highlight was his recent design for "Frida Libre," a musical centered around Frida Kahlo. Despite the production often being presented in a scaled-down format, Milo's vision overflowed the space with vibrant color and dynamic movement, breathing new life into Frida's art in an unprecedented manner. His commitment to story, while also relishing in innovation, allows his designs to go beyond the expected and continuously, delightfully surprise the audience.
Milo earned his BA in Scene Design from Columbia College and MFA in Scene Design from Northwestern University.
